On May 18, 2020, Fire Safe Sonoma presented a free webinar on Structural Hardening and is the first of many upcoming webinars we hope you will find valuable. To view a video of the webinar click HERE.
Hardening a home to withstand wildland fire exposure does not have to be costly, but it does require an understanding of the exposures your home will experience when threatened by a wildfire. This webinar on wildfire resiliency will increase your understanding of the exposures your home faces when threatened by a wildfire and will focus on home hardening projects that will reduce your wildfire risks.
This one-hour long webinar on Structural Hardening was presented by David Shew. David is recently retired from CAL FIRE after 31 years of service. He is currently a wildland fire safety consultant and is the owner of Wildfire Defense Works, LLC, and serves as a board member with the California Fire Safe Council. David has a demonstrated history of working in the public safety industry. He is skilled in public safety, emergency management, emergency preparedness, and disaster response. David is a strong community and social services professional with a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) focused in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.
